Khubas IT Solution (PTY) LTD ("we") runs CV Builder AI. This policy explains how we handle your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Our Information Officer is Khubas IT Solution (PTY) LTD - Chief Executive Officer (CEO), reachable at support@cvbuilderai.co.za.

What we collect

• Account details from Google when you sign in: your name, email address and profile picture.
• Payment records: the style bought, the amount, the date and a payment reference. Paystack handles your card details, and we never receive your full card number.
• CV content you type, say or upload. Your draft and chat are saved in your own browser or phone, not in our database. We process them on our servers only to reply to you and to generate your documents.
• Voice: speech recognition is performed by your browser or phone's speech service, which may send audio to its provider, such as Google. We receive only the resulting text and never store recordings.
• Technical data such as your IP address, used temporarily to protect the service from abuse, and cookies, described in our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it

We use your information to provide the service you asked for, manage your account and subscription, process payments, keep the service secure, meet legal obligations and, where you have agreed, show advertising.

Who we share it with

• Groq, our AI provider, processes your messages, your CV content and the text of uploaded files to generate replies. Photos you upload are sent to Groq to be read. We extract the text of PDF and Word files on our own server first.
• Google provides sign-in and, if enabled, advertising.
• Paystack processes payments.
• Hosting and database providers run our website and store account and payment records.

Some of these providers operate outside South Africa, so your information may be transferred across borders. We use providers that are bound by data protection obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Sensitive information

Please do not give us your ID number, banking details, health information, or details of your race or religion. A CV does not need them. The assistant is instructed not to ask for them and to leave them out.

Uploaded files

Uploaded files are read once to extract text and are not stored by us. The extracted text becomes part of your chat on your device.

Advertising and Google cookies

Public pages of our website may display ads through Google AdSense, but only if you accept advertising cookies.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
• Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

We do not show ads in the CV builder or your account pages, and we do not pass your CV content to advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep account details until you delete your account. Sessions expire after 30 days. We keep payment records for as long as tax law requires, with the link to your identity removed when you delete your account. To remove your draft and chat, use Start over in the builder or clear your browser or app data.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, object to its processing, and withdraw consent. You can delete your account yourself on the Account page, or contact us. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Security and children

We use encrypted connections, store only hashed session tokens and limit access to our systems, but no online service is completely secure. The service is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.

We will post any changes to this policy here with a new date.
